The ASSEMBLY is a playful & lofty intersectional feminist collective of process-oriented, performance-driven, self-identifying clowns. Our group is based in Vancouver B.C. on the unceded traditional lands of the Coast Salish Peoples which includes the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh).
Each member of THE ASSEMBLY brings their own diversity of skills and approaches to the group. Most members have trained in or are familiar with “pochinko” or “Canadian style clowning” technique.
Together we have self-produced ten shows (rated A+ for adults only), since our humble beginnings in Lisa Voth‘s living room back in January of 2014.
